Grit

Gardening done. Rose bush planted.

As I fix myself a cup of tea, sweat

Dripping from the forehead.

Sigh… take a sip.

Dirt under the fingernails

Is more welcome a feeling

Than I can say

  1. I read an article somewhere that mentioned beneficial bacteria in soil, and how working with the earth (as in, gardening) provides health benefits that non-gardeners don’t get. I’ll have to look and see if I can find it again, was kind of interesting. ❤ Gardening! Hard work, but so worth it! 🙂

    1. agreed! i really love taking the time, even for just a bit — to do a few things. and watering almost every day, of course. it really doesn’t take that much to make a nice and peaceful spot. have had neighbors compliment, say how they love walking by and get a sense of tranquility ….. and the earth, the dirt – provides all. i think i’ve heard that, too — that there is benefit from “playing in the mud.” 🙂

Feedback always welcome
